What would you do if you were told
that no matter how hard you tried,
You couldn’t change this world?
But it’s all you wanted most of your life,
Still you couldn’t change this world.
Sex, alcohol, abuse and suicide,
kids walking the streets in gangs they reside,
You long to change this world…
Poverty, abuse and rape and racism,
discrimination knocking at your door,
If only we could change this world…
War, famine, environmental damage
If only we could change this world…
Politics and laws, keeping us from freedom, always holding us back,
If only we could change this world…
I dare you now to take each other’s hands,
crossing over boundaries into other lands,
I know we can change this world…
Telling each other we could survive,
through poverty, famine, rape and suicide,
I know we could change this world!
What would you do if you were told
that no matter how hard you tried,
You couldn’t change this world?
We’d tell them, we’d tell them take each other’s hands and we’ll show them
Together we can change this world!
