We are doing a new video for the new song “Just Fall” off of “Interwoven Roots”. We are needing photos of people afflicted with cancer. We need photos of survivors, people who lost their battle with cancer, and those fighting now with cancer.

We want real pictures… real people… going through real life situations… The video will be a fundraiser for Cancer. The money is not going to research but going to an organization that helps people fund their treatments. We need info too!

She also for the 2nd time took home Best Produced/Engineered Album, giving props to Thunder Bay’s Dining Room Studios, Nashville co-producer, Jerry Vandiver and Nashville studio, County Q, and Zolis Productions in Toronto. Dave Angell from Thunder Bay is not only her bass player but also one of the engineers on Shy-Anne’s album.

To add to the list of awards, she also won Best Album Design. The two artist who did her art work are both from Northern Ontario. Liane Ross-Buckler from Ear Falls, Ontario, and young emerging artist, Silver Suggashie from Pikangikum, Ontario did her album cover, while Cat Larson from Busy Bee’s photography was responsible for her photos.

The other award, which was emotional for Shy-Anne, was her win for Best Music Video for her video “Too Young, Too Late”. This video was made in honor of the late Claudette Magne against texting and driving. Thunder Bay Police, EMS, TBay Tel, Aldo Ruberto, The City of Thunder Bay and the MTO all helped Shy-Anne with sponsorship to help raise awareness for texting and driving. The song features youth singer Christine Arnold who dies from a texting and driving accident in the video (not for real). Shy-Anne has dedicated/given the award to the Magne family to honor Claudette. Shy-Anne wants to thanks Spun Photography, DMan Photography and Crystal Sync for their work on the video.

Shy-Anne’s wins created history for the Aboriginal Awards. She is the highest award winning female in the history of the awards, and tied for 3rd place overall win with Winnipeg’s Most. Twice she brought the crowd to tears, and created a 5000 person standing ovation for her mom. Shy-Anne brought her mom up to honor her for her fight and win against breast cancer. Their was not a dry eye in the crowd or according to feedback, with the TV viewers.

As if this wasn’t enough, Shy-Anne got to perform her song “The Glue” that she wrote for her boyfriend Ben Bartlett. She wants to thank Collosimo Music Store for lending them a beautiful Taylor guitar for the performance. Shy-Anne’s band consisted of her usual players Dave Angell on bass, Justin Sillman on electric guitar and Josh Hogan on drums. Shy-Anne invited Todd Kivilahti from Atikokan, ON to play acoustic guitar. Todd had never done a show in his life, but rocked one of the biggest shows in Canada on live, nation wide TV. Shy-Anne also brought her talented student Jory Zechner from Nipigon, ON to sing back-ups. Together, they rocked the stage at the Winnipeg MTS Center after a clean sweep of 6 wins!

The leader of Shy-Anne’s street team, Nathan Ogden, was able to join her on her trip, and see what it is like to be part of a high profile show. To quote Shy-Anne, “I could not have made it through the weekend without Nathan.”

A huge congrats go out to Shy-Anne for her huge, history making win! If you would like to see Shy-Anne live, she will be performing at the Italian Cultural Center on November 16th and 17th with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra. The songs will include many numbers from her award winning album, and guest musician, Jerry Vandiver from Nashville, TN will be joining her on a couple numbers.
